About James

“Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others”

Jonathan Swift

I'm a documentary photographer based in East London. My work uses elements of topography, autobiography and metaphor to examine the experience of place and create narratives to contextualise contemporary issues.

I studied documentary photography at the world renowned Newport School and was exhibited in the Martin Parr curated Strange and Familiar exhibition at The Barbican. I'm a regular contributor to online and print magazines. I have exhibited in London, Cardiff, New York and Amsterdam and have work in private collections.

Selected features include: The Guardian, Then There Was Us, Banal Magazine, PhotoGrad, Conceptual Projects, Pupil Sphere, Shutter Hub, British Journal of Photography, Ffotogallery Platform, Post Evidence, Scroll Mag, Photo Scratch, All Cities Are Beautiful, Landscape Photobooks and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
